Winter Teams

Tryout Information

Tryout Fee – $39 (covers both tryouts; if a 3rd tryout is conducted, no additional cost)

 

STARS Basketball intends to form the following teams, to compete in area winter leagues, after conducting both tryout sessions; 9-10 players per team. *Note: Blue is top team; White is second team. The ability to form a second team (White Team) will be based on both coach supply and # of attendees/talent level of attendees.

· 4B/4G through 6B/6G – Blue Team and White Teams for each grade is the plan

Team Information

Practice Information for ALL Teams:

  • All teams will begin to practice the week of November 6th.  
  • All teams will practice twice per week, with the exception of 6th grade teams.  These teams will practice 1x per week, on Sundays, due to middle school basketball demands on weekdays. 
    • 5th grade and younger teams:  Approx. 26 practices during the season 
    • 6th grade teams:  Approx. 13 practices during the season
  • Teams participating in the FRA Performance League will practice through Thursday, Feb. 16th (last games on Saturday, Feb. 18th)
  • Teams participating in the Darius Garland League will practice through Thursday, Feb. 23rd (last games on Saturday, Feb. 25th)
  • Practice schedules will be posted for each team at tryout session #2 on 9.30.22
  • Teams will not practice the following weeks:  11.20, 12.18, or 12.25 (*We will schedule a make-up practice for those teams that would have practiced on Sunday, January 1st)
 
 

Season Information for ALL Teams:

 4B/4G White Teams will play in the FRA (Franklin Road Academy) Performance League; all games at FRA.  

  • December games: 12.10 and 12.17
  • January games:  1.7, 1.14, 1.21, and 1.28
  • Feb. games:  2.11 and 2.18 (Feb. schedule will include end-of-season tournament); according to League Director, minimum of 8 games. 

Our 4B/4G Blue Teams and all 5th-6th grade teams will play in the Darius Garland League. 

  • November game:  11.19
  • December games:  12.3, 12.10, and 12.17
  • January games:  1.7, 1.14, 1.21, and 1.28
  • Feb. games:   2.4, 2.11, 2.18 (tournament begins); depending on performance in tournament, may play on 2.25; according to League Director, each team should receive 12 games.
  • Game locations: 
    • 4G will play at Brentwood Academy or Lipscomb Academy Elementary
    • 4B and older teams will play at Lipscomb Academy or Hillwood High School (400 Davidson Road, Nashville)
  • All Winter Teams will receive a coupon code to save 25% one time use on Thanksgiving Clinics or Christmas Break Clinics

FRA Peformance League 

  •  Team Fee – $599
  • Gear Fee – $100 (Under Armour Hoodie; 2 sets of shorts/jerseys)
  •  Total Fee – $699 ($50 refund / return both sets of uniforms at end-of-season)
  •  Net Fee – $649

 

Darius Garland League 

  • Team Fee – $725
  • Gear Fee – $100 (Under Armour Hoodie; 2 sets of shorts/jerseys)
  • Total Fee – $825 ($50 refund / return both sets of uniforms at end-of-season)
  • Net Fee – $775

Darius Garland League 

  • Team Fee – $525
  • Gear Fee – $100 (Under Armour Hoodie; 2 sets of shorts/jerseys)
  • Total Fee – $625 ($50 refund / return both sets of uniforms at end-of-season)
  • Net Fee – $575
