2023 Club Teams – General Information That Applies to
All 2023 Club Teams (*Unless Otherwise Noted):
STARS Basketball will be hosting tryouts for our 2023 Club Teams from early February through early March at both our SOUTH and NORTH Hubs. STARS will from approximately 60 teams this spring: SOUTH Hub (40 teams – 4th Grade through 11th Grade); NORTH Hub (20 teams – 5th Grade through 11th Grade).
2023 Club Teams – General Information That Applies to All 2023 Club Teams (*Unless Otherwise Noted):
- When registering for tryouts, register your athlete(s) based on “CURRENT GRADE / 2022-2023 School Year”
- Tryout registration fee covers both tryouts; athletes are STRONGLY ENCOURAGED to attend both tryouts
- Practices for high school teams will begin mid-March (based on grade-specific tryout dates)
- Practices:
- Teams will practice 2x per week (90 minute practices); *UA RISE High School Teams may only practice 1x a week due to team member’s proximity to Nashville; may also have longer/joint practices with other UA Rise and/or PREMIER Teams
- SOUTH Hub: While 70% of our teams will practice at TOA Sports Performance Center or Battleground Academy, some teams will practice at area Williamson County Schools or area private schools
- NORTH Hub: While 50% of our teams will practice at Davidson Academy, some teams will practice at area Sumner County Schools or area private schools
- We will strive to provide each team’s practice schedule at tryouts
- Team invites will be sent within 1-2 days of the final tryout session
- Players will have 48 hours to accept team invite
- Team fees can be paid in full or you can choose “payment plan” option (normally 4 total payments/four months)
- Team fee includes uniforms’ deposit. Upon returning both sets of UA uniforms (jerseys/shorts) in clean/good condition at the conclusion of the season, families will receive a $150 refund
- Team Gear: All players will receive two sets of UA uniforms, two UA shooting shirts, and two pair of UA Socks
- UA RISE High School Teams will also receive UA Shoes and a UA Travel Suit
- PREMIER High School Teams will also receive a UA Travel Suit
- UA Backpacks are OPTIONAL – available for purchase at $60 (*same UA backpack as provided in 2022 Club Season)

- Tournaments: Teams will play 6, 7, or 8 tournaments depending on the team. See grade/gender team capsules for details
- 6 Tournament Teams: Season will run through late May/first weekend of June
- 7 Tournament Teams: Season will run through late May/mid-June
- 8 Tournament Teams: High School Teams: Mid-to-late July
- COMMITMENT: If your son or daughter will miss more than one tournament (other than for unforeseen reasons like illness/injury), please do not attend tryouts and take a roster spot. For example, if your child plays spring travel baseball or spring club volleyball, the spring basketball tournament season will not work.

BOYS
HIGH SCHOOL BOYS’ TEAMS: Based on STARS’ impressive performance in 2022 at the high school level, including going 17-1 on the UA RISE Circuit, the club has built a great model for high school boys’ teams for 2023. As the club continues to attract the top talent in Middle Tennessee, along with athletes from throughout TN, AL, and KY, STARS will be forming 12 high school teams, that at a minimum, will participate in all three NCAA Live Period events and also a PREP HOOPS event in Franklin.

- SOUTH Team – 7 Tournaments (4 regional/national events, with 3 events being out of town)
- NORTH Team – 7 Tournaments (4 regional/national events, with 3 events being out of town)
TRYOUTS: STARS is hosting tryouts for high school boys in THREE specific groups: UA RISE/PREMIER, SOUTH Hub, and NORTH Hub. The UA RISE/PREMIER tryouts will be hosted PRIOR to both the SOUTH Hub and NORTH Hub tryouts.
- If you are one of the best players in your state and/or region (a top-tier player) that desires a heavy travel schedule featuring 8 regional/national events (7 out-of-town events), please register for “UA RISE/PREMIER” tryouts. Team invites will be sent with 24-48 hours of tryouts; therefore, players that do attend “UA RISE/PREMIER” tryouts” and do not receive a team invite, you can still register/attend the SOUTH Hub or NORTH Hub tryouts based on location that is most convenient for you
- If you do not meet the above criteria and/or desire 7 out-out-town events, you should register for either SOUTH Hub or NORTH Hub tryouts based on location that is most convenient for you
