Goals of the League:

LEARN/HAVE FUN/COMPETE:   The STARS Summer Hoops League will provide area middle school boys (rising 6^th-8^th grade boys) the opportunity to play weekly games in a structured, positive environment.  Players need more game reps under great coaches in preparation for their upcoming middle school basketball tryouts/season.  Also, playing with different players and hearing a different voice is great for young players!  This summer league will allow athletes to learn and work on their skills in a structured scrimmage setting.  Games will be officiated by TSSAA officials.

*For those athletes that may attend tryouts and play on a STARS Summer Team (Rising 6^th-7^th-8^th grade teams) in the BGA Futures League or 6^th grade athletes that participate in the FRA Performance League on a non-STARS team, the STARS Summer Hoops League will NOT conflict, as our league games will be on Wed. evenings. For athletes that play on a STARS Team in the BGA League, the 1x practice a week and 1x game a week will NOT interfere/conflict with the STARS Summer Hoops League.  Therefore, athletes can do both!

Dates / Divisions:  Wednesday Evenings in June/July – June 7^th through July 26^th (8-game season)

• League will be hosted at TOA Sports Performance Center (215 Gothic Court, Franklin)
• Individual registration only; no “team registration”
• Tentative Game Times:  5:00 p.m.; 6:00 p.m.; 7:00 p.m.; 8:00 p.m. (games will start NO earlier than 5:00 p.m.; may adjust schedule as needed based on league size)
• Grades:  Rising 6th-8th Grade Boys (2023-2024 school year)
• Divisions (Boys Only):
  • JV (Rising 6th and 7th Grade)
  • Varsity (Rising 7th Grade/Advanced Players and Rising 8th Grade)
• Season consists of 8 games

Teams and Game Format:  Session/Game Times and Rules

• 8-9 players per team (*We do expect players to miss a game(s) due to summer travel/vacations/etc.)
• Individual registration only 
• Wednesday Evenings in June/July – June 7th through July 26th (Season consists of 8 games)
• Teams Formed/Coaches Assigned – Teams (players and assigned coaches) are fixed for all 8 weeks (*Player moves could happen, after week #1, to make teams more fair/competitive environment)
• Two, 24 min. halves with a running clock (clock stops last minute of each half)
• Games will be officiated by TSSAA officials
• Players will receive a jersey(s) for the league; jerseys to be returned after last game

Pricing:

• $175 ($195 – if registering May 22^nd and later)
• Registration deadline is Wed., May 31^st
